Rich-Result-Eligible Schema Types 2026
Rich-result-eligible schema types are the subset of schema.org markup types that Google currently renders as a visible rich result in the search results, since Google decides independently which types it supports and adjusts that list continuously. Between 2025 and 2026 Google removed several types from rich results support, while others such as Product, Recipe or Event remain in active use.
In practice
In June 2025 Google dropped seven types: Book Actions, Course Info, Claim Review, Estimated Salary, Learning Video, Special Announcement and Vehicle Listing; no ranking downgrade is involved. For Course this affects only the single course rich result: according to Google, the course list carousel for overview pages with at least three courses remains supported. In May 2026 FAQ rich results followed, having been restricted since August 2023 to a small number of government and health sites anyway – since May 2026 the FAQ snippet no longer appears even for those exceptions. Google's general rule for structured data applies here too: losing rich result eligibility has no effect on how a page ranks in web search. According to Google, the affected markup types remain technically valid; only the special visual presentation disappears – FAQPage, for instance, remains a sensible markup and does not need to be removed. In practice that means checking the current Google Search Central documentation and the Rich Results Test before adding new markup, rather than older SEO guides, because the list of supported types changes regularly.
