Rich Results (Rich Snippets)

Rich results are visually enhanced search listings – with star ratings, a price, a breadcrumb trail or a product image, for example – that Google can show in addition to the standard snippet on the basis of correctly implemented structured data.

In practice

Not every schema.org type produces a rich result: Google decides whether to display one, limits some formats to particular categories of website or discontinues them entirely – FAQ rich results, for instance, were restricted by Google in 2023 to a few authoritative government and health sites and discontinued entirely in May 2026; the FAQPage markup itself remains valid, only the special display in search has gone. Structured data is still worthwhile, because it also helps AI systems understand the page.
