Made to work

Design, technology and content work together here – guided by four principles that apply to every project.

01

Clearly structured

Content, navigation and design follow a logic that gets your visitors where they want to go without detours.

02

Technically sound

Lean code, fast load times, maintainable systems – built for everyday use, not for the moment.

03

Data-minimising & secure

Self-hosted fonts and tools instead of unnecessary third parties – data-minimising and technically transparent.

04

Accessible

We design to WCAG so more people can use your website with a screen reader, keyboard or other assistive technology.

Origins

From bread to the browser bar

FINK Brot was once exactly that: a family-run bakery in Vienna's 13th district, with roots in the 19th century. Registered as a GmbH since 1979, the company has reinvented itself several times – from craft bakery to retail business to today's agency for web design, SEO and digital marketing. What has stayed is the outlook and the entrepreneurial thinking: work honestly, stay close to the customer, plan for the long term.

  1. 19th century The Fink bakery is founded in Vienna's 13th district, close to Schönbrunn.
  2. 1979 Registration as a GmbH – the commercial foundation we still work from today.
  3. 2012 A new direction: the bakery becomes a retail business. The online shop grows on search engine optimisation and consistent brand management alone.
  4. 2018 The retail business is handed over within the family and the focus shifts to digital strategy.

Accessibility, hands-on

Test your colours

Two examples, one playground: check live whether a colour combination is readable for everyone – with the same formula testing tools use.

  • Light grey on white

    2,5:1 insufficient contrast

Looks subtle, but is simply unreadable for many.

  • White on our green

    7,5:1 meets AAA

The colour pair of this website – level AAA.

Calculated with the WCAG 2.2 formula for relative luminance. Thresholds: 4.5:1 for text, 3:1 for large text and controls.

Selected projects

Three examples from practice – as different as the companies behind them, held to the same standard of clarity and technical quality.

Industry / B2B

LASACO – website relaunch for an industrial company

Frequently asked questions

What does FINK Brot do?
FINK Brot is a web design and SEO agency in Vienna. We build accessible, data-minimising websites, improve visibility in search engines and AI assistants (SEO, AEO/GEO) and support local visibility, business photography as well as graphic design and illustration. We also develop our own software and projects.
Why is a web agency named after bread?
The name FINK Brot comes from the Fink bakery in Vienna's 13th district, which the company grew out of – Brot is German for bread. The roots reach back into the 19th century, and the GmbH has existed since 1979. Today we work digitally, and the name is a reminder of craft, origins and honest work.
What does a website or ongoing SEO support cost at FINK Brot?
Costs depend on the scope and goals of your project. After an initial call you receive a transparent quote with a clearly defined scope of work. Detailed answers on SEO costs are on our SEO Agency page. For a first assessment, you can get a free SEO check.
Who does FINK Brot work for?
FINK Brot works for small and medium-sized companies in Vienna and across Austria. Typical projects are new websites, ongoing SEO support and local visibility – in industry, tourism and retail, as the projects for LASACO, Snow Experts and Optik Maurer show.
What does AEO mean?
AEO stands for Answer Engine Optimization: self-contained answers, clear structure and evidence make content easier for answer systems to assess as a possible source. The system still decides whether to mention it.
Does my website have to be accessible?
Only certain digital services covered by law are required to comply; a general company website is not automatically affected. The Austrian Accessibility Act (Barrierefreiheitsgesetz, BaFG) has applied to certain products and services since 28 June 2025. Whether a specific offer is covered or exempt depends on its function and provider; our self-check is not legal advice.
Regardless of a legal duty, accessible design helps more people. Clear semantics also support technical processing, but do not create an automatic ranking advantage.
