ClaimReview (Fact-Check Schema)
ClaimReview is a schema.org data type for marking up fact checks in machine-readable form: it describes the claim reviewed, who made it, the organisation carrying out the check and the verdict. Google used it to show a dedicated fact-check rich snippet in search until 2025, but has no longer supported this rich result type since June 2025.
In practice
In June 2025 Google announced that it would end rich results support for seven structured data types: Book Actions, Course Info, Claim Review, Estimated Salary, Learning Video, Special Announcement and Vehicle Listing. For ClaimReview this means in concrete terms that even correctly marked-up pages no longer receive a fact-check snippet, and since September 2025 Search Console has stopped reporting the data as well. No ranking downgrade is involved, only the removal of the visual presentation: according to Google's structured data policies, losing rich result eligibility explicitly does not affect where a page ranks in web search. As justification Google said the display formats concerned had rarely been used in practice and no longer offered users any additional value — a targeted clean-up of individual presentations rather than a general retreat from schema.org support. If you have already implemented ClaimReview you can leave the markup unchanged, for other search engines for instance, or remove it without replacement; there is no pressure to act.
