Organic Reach

Organic reach is the number of people who see a post without any advertising budget behind it. It differs from impressions, which also count repeated views by the same person, and it is normally well below a profile's follower count.

In practice

Expect only a fraction of your followers to see any single post; the platforms themselves confirm that reach and follower count are not the same thing. For SMEs this means a channel with a few hundred relevant local followers can be worth more commercially than one with several thousand collected at random. The most common mistake is reading falling organic reach as personal failure; it declines structurally across most providers because more content competes for the same slots. Always review reach together with interactions and actual enquiries, never in isolation.
