Local Pack (Local 3-Pack)
Local Pack is the industry term for the group of local listings that Google shows together with a map at the top of the results page for location-related queries, above the classic organic listings. Google itself uses neither "Local Pack" nor "Local 3-Pack", but speaks of local search results appearing in Google Maps and Google Search. The widespread claim that exactly three entries are shown is an observation from practice; Google promises no fixed number.
In practice
Appearing here comes down above all to proximity to the person searching, a complete Google Business Profile and strong review signals – classic on-page and backlink factors play a much smaller role. A look at the competitors currently listed shows what level of reviews and profile data is needed for one of the top spots. Do not count on there being exactly three places: how many entries Google shows can vary by query and by device.
