Geo-Targeting

Geo-targeting is the practice of serving different content, ads or offers according to the detected geographic location of the user, common in local advertising campaigns and increasingly in personalised website content as well.

In practice

For companies with several locations, geo-targeting works well to show information about the nearest branch automatically – implemented transparently and based on correct location data. Without reliable underlying data, geo-targeting creates confusion rather than value.
