Same-Day Delivery & Availability Signals

Same-day delivery and availability signals are the details about stock levels, collection times and same-day shipping that retailers communicate through Google Merchant Center, their own shop or marketplaces. They influence whether and how a product appears in local search results, in Local Inventory Ads or in map views with a delivery or collection note.

In practice

Google maintains dedicated collection attributes in Merchant Center – pickup_method and pickup_SLA, with values such as "same day" and "next day" – which are a precondition for collection notes in Local Inventory Ads; same-day delivery, by contrast, is expressed through the shipping and local delivery configuration. The two have to be maintained separately. As of 31 August 2026 Google switches Local Inventory Ads on by default in classic Shopping campaigns; local offers can then only be excluded through inventory filters, and Performance Max campaigns are not affected (as of August 2026, per the Google Ads Developer Blog post of 20 July 2026). For multi-channel retailers that already means store codes, stock per branch and delivery times have to be transmitted to Google cleanly and kept current, or availability information in search will be wrong or missing.
