Product Data Feed
A product data feed is the structured file with which online retailers transmit attributes such as title, price, availability, GTIN and image links to Google Merchant Center, price comparison sites or social commerce platforms. It is the technical basis for products appearing in shopping results, marketplaces or Instagram and TikTok shops at all.
In practice
Feed quality decides visibility: missing GTINs, titles that are too short or outdated stock levels lead to rejections or poor placement. Successful feeds reflect search intent by putting the important attributes (brand, model, colour, size) into titles in the order people typically search for them. Because Google, price comparison sites, marketplaces and social shopping channels often set their own field format requirements, many retailers use a central PIM or feed management tool that adapts one base feed automatically for each platform.
