Content Distribution

Content distribution is the deliberate process of actively promoting and spreading published content through relevant channels — social media, email, partnerships, paid promotion — instead of merely publishing it and hoping that people find it organically.

In practice

A useful rule of thumb among content teams is to put roughly as much effort into distributing a piece as into creating it. A distribution plan for each piece — which channel, which format, which timing — stops a good article from quietly disappearing the moment it goes live.
