Story Formats (Ephemeral Content)
Story formats are posts on social networks that remain visible only for a limited period, usually twenty-four hours, and appear separately from the regular feed at the top of the screen. They typically consist of portrait images or short videos with simple interaction elements such as polls or question boxes.
In practice
Stories suit everyday material that would be too incidental for the feed: opening hours, progress on a site, short glimpses of the workshop or a pointer to a new post. Because they disappear, the quality bar is lower, which cuts production effort considerably and lowers the barrier for small teams. Use polls and question boxes deliberately to collect feedback you would otherwise never receive. Remember subtitles, since many people watch without sound, and save genuinely good stories into a permanently visible collection, or the work is gone after a day.
