Social Search (Search Within Social Networks)
Social search refers to searching inside social networks, where users type terms directly into the platform's own search function instead of using a search engine. Results are drawn from profiles, posts, videos and comments on that same platform.
In practice
Treat your profile and post copy like search results: spell out what you offer and where you work rather than relying on imagery, because in-platform search mainly evaluates text. Say the key terms out loud in videos too, since some platforms transcribe audio automatically. For local businesses, combining service and location in the profile name or description pays off, for instance a joinery plus the district. Do not expect dramatic gains, though: social search complements visibility in conventional search engines but does not replace it for services that involve real research.
