Content Audit
A content audit is the systematic review of all content on a website in terms of performance, currency, factual accuracy and SEO potential. On the basis of this analysis, a decision is taken for each page: keep it, revise it, merge it with other content or remove it.
In practice
A content audit helps to uncover outdated or thin pages, duplicate or competing content and thematic gaps in what a website offers. The evaluation is usually done in a spreadsheet with URL, traffic, ranking position, the date of the last update and a clear decision per page: keep, improve, merge or delete. Regular content audits – once a year, for example – help to safeguard the quality and relevance of a website over the long term.
