AEO (Answer Engine Optimization)
Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) is the deliberate preparation of website content for AI-based answer systems such as ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google AI Overviews, so that they understand the content correctly, treat it as a trustworthy source and cite it in their answers.
In practice
AEO adds to classic SEO with quotable short answers at the start of a paragraph, consistent question-and-answer structures, structured data and clearly identifiable entities such as author and organisation. This glossary is itself an AEO building block: every definition is written so that AI systems can take it over directly.
