Case Study Marketing
Case study marketing uses real client projects as a content format to set out the starting position, the solution and the results achieved in a way readers can follow. Unlike a pure testimonial, a case study provides structured evidence that a product or service works and serves as credible proof of competence in B2B sales.
In practice
A case study usually follows the sequence of starting situation, challenge, approach and measurable result, rounded off with a client quote. Before publication, the client's written approval for content, figures and quotes should be obtained – if only because project details often touch on trade secrets or are covered by non-disclosure agreements. Where people are pictured or named, image and personality rights come into play as well; if in doubt, have that clarified legally beforehand. Case studies work on your website, as a PDF in sales, in sales presentations and in shortened form as LinkedIn posts. What matters is a concrete, verifiable account rather than vague promises of success, because otherwise the very credibility this format is meant to deliver suffers.
